The Cinemas of the Film House

The Film House is home to two quality cinemas. These are primarily used for the Film Institute's own screenings and events, but can also be hired by external customers.

A central showcase, Cinemateket uses the cinemas for its film historical screenings, and they are also the venue for various film, media and arts related gatherings. The cinemas feature the latest technical equipment, enabling them to screen films in most formats, including 70 mm film and streaming video from the Internet.

Cinema Victor is the big cinema for the big occasion. Its name derives from the celebrated Swedish director, screenwriter and actor Victor Sjöström (1879-1960). This stylish cinema has 364 leather-clad seats, each providing an excellent view of the screen.

Cinema Mauritz is the perfect venue for all your special events. Named after the legendary Swedish director and screenwriter Mauritz Stiller (1883-1928), it can seat 133 guests.
